S312 James Madison (Matt) ESTEP was born 14 Dec 1819 in St. Clair Co., IL and died 17 Oct 1904 in Mason Co., IL. He married on 14 Feb 1858 in Mason Co. to Maria Frances (SHORT) PERKINS (12 Jun 1835 Sangamon (now Menard) Co., IL - 27 Apr 1916 Wheaton, MT), daughter of David Rice and Sarah (SHORT) SHORT and widow of James Garrison PERKINS. Matt and Maria are buried in Walker's Grove cemetery, Easton, IL.
Their children were: Sarah Abigail SAMUELL, Dillard M., Carrie Emeline LEONARD (twin), Cordie Caroline CRUM (twin), Ella Judith LIST, and Ida Lena TYTHERLEIGH.
